During our trip we go along the Zagyva dam – except for the detour at Boldogháza

1. Jászberény – Jászfelsőszentgyörgy (Nature Reserve along the Zagyva River)
|
Between Jászberény and Jászfelsőszentgyörgy turning to North on a slip dirt road we reach the protected Zagyva area walking a few hundred meters. The Nature Reserve along the Zagyva is 111 hectare which is the right foreshore of the Zagyva.

2. Jászberény – Jászfelsőszentgyörgy (Hajta Moor and Nature Reserve)
|
About 7 km to west from Jászberény we can find Hajta area. This is the only one which still treasures the memory of the life in the moors. The 117 hectare protocted area can be reached from the no. 31 main road at the 70, 8 km stone turning to North on a slip dirt road.

3. Jászberény – Jászfelsőszentgyörgy (ZOO and Botanic Garden)
|
It can be found along the no. 31 main road before Jászberény. This Garden also would like to run an eco educational centre in the region.

4. Jásztelek (Jásztelek-Pusztamizsei Nature Reserve)
|
This area is on the edge of Jásztelek where we can find the deepest part of the Jászság and the Great Plain, which is very rich in flora (with many 100 year old oaks) and fauna.

5. Alattyán (Kiskertek alja)
|
In the south-west part of the settlement there is a 10 hectare field used as a meadow but it also gives a great opportunity to take a short break on our way.
|

6. Jánoshida (Leisure Center)
|
The Leisure Center was finished by the Jazygian World Meeting which gives a great oppurtunity for hikers to relax.

7. Jászalsószentgyörgy (Wildlife park)
|
In the south-west part of the settlement, on the right side of the Zagyva river there is a 7, 72 hectare park. The local protected forest is full with native trees. In the park, we can find the sports field of the settlement.

Suggested visiting period
|
The Route can be visited throughout the year. The main season is the Hajta tours season, where you can join in October by bicycle, and in May on foot.

Length of the Route
|
~25 kms. It takes 2 days by canoe to take the trip, and it is worth 3 days to count if you come by bicycle, in order to spend more time in nature or get more aquainted with the wildlife.
