Route of Crafts of Agriculture

It is suggested to travel by car on this trip because of the large distance among the places of interest.

1. Jászboldogháza
|
The first stop is at the house of Tibor Durucz, who introduces the traditional paprika production and sample products are given to visitors.
|
|
2. Jászladány
|
The agriculture played and still plays an important role in the village and even the whole region’s life. In Jászladány there is an event which has been organized for several years on the second weekend of October and named by the most typical product: Jászság Onion day. On that day we can have a glimpse at the secrets of the process of onion cultivation.

3. Jászszentandrás
|
As the last stop of the day we arrive to this settlement where the citizens mostly deal with melon cultivation and they are pleased to introduce you to the process of the cultivation and also offer tasting different types of melons. There is also a museum of truffle. You can enjoy the nice temperature thermal water bath of the village for the rest of the day.

4. Jászivány
|
It is not an everyday experience to see the farm in the outskirts of the village where one can get aquinted with the work processes related to keeping animals. Anyone can join in the feeding work and children may as well pat the domestic animals (sheep, calves etc.).

5. Jászdózsa
|
On the second day we can taste different game dishes of the Tarnamenti 2000 Rt and as a separate program those who have permission for hunting can go on a hunting. One can watch and also participate in the making of bread made from spelt wheat. The village is excellent for small walks (bank of the Tarna) not only because of the landscape but also for the good possibility for fishing.

5. Jászágó
|
After 15 km we can visit the farm of Péter Csajkás in where he shows the visitor around presenting the old times’ and today’s farm life. The visitors can see the farm, pasture and garden. We can find mostly native animals here (mangalica, corlwald pigs, magyartarka cow, nonius, cool-blooded and lipicai horses). Moreover, the owner also deals with milk processing and producing cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese which are presented as well.

6. Jászfényszaru
|
At the end of our route we can visit the eco-farm called ’Ördög farm’, 05/42 Gyikinyes Sóstó Farm.
Animals are kept on eco-feed: Holsten-friz cows, meat bulls, poultry, mangalica pigs and lipicai horses.
Services: horse-riding, horse-riding training, cross-country riding, farm exhibition, demonstration on animals, vernacular food cooking and tasting, and tasting of home-made products (diary products, poultry products, mangalica products, syrups, jams).
